2009 Jeep Commander Power Steering Cooler Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Power Steering Cooler for 3.7L and 4.7L Engines on 2009 Jeep Commander?
A: Begin by draining the power steering fluid in the reservoir to service and repair the fluid cooler on these engines. After that, pull out the weather-strip seal on the hood radiator cowl and unscrew the six grille push pins. Take out the reservoir return hose from the cooler and then remove the steering gear return line at the gear to cooler. Now, remove the cooler from its place in the snap-in brackets and bring it along with the hoses out of the vehicle.
