  A: The initial step is to cut power to the negative cable to take out the battery tray. In vehicles running on diesel engines, first disconnect the vacuum and electrical connectors from the diesel vacuum valve, then lift the bracket holding the valve to release it from the receptacles in the battery tray. After this, follow the instructions to remove the battery for its replacement. Then, remove the four bolts marked (1) and the one holding down the nut marked (2) which secures the battery tray (3) to the left frame rail (4). After that, take the battery tray out of the engine region and take it away from the vehicle.
