How to Service and Repair an Outer Tie Rod End on 2009 Jeep Compass?

Before you serve the outer tie rod end, raise and secure the vehicle, then unscrew the wheel mounting nuts and remove the tire and wheel. While you hold the tie rod end stud with a wrench, loosen and remove the nut that holds the tie rod to the knuckle. Fix Remover, Special Tool 9360, over the tie rod end and push it until it breaks free from the knuckle, then remove the outer tie rod. When removing the outer tie rod from the inner, count how many times you turn it to assist with installation and reaching the required toe position. In the end, take out the outer tie rod from the inner tie rod.
