How to Service and Repair a Hood Latch on 2009 Jeep Patriot?

Before doing any service or repair on the hood latch, indicate its position 3 on the upper radiator crossmember with a grease pencil. After that, unplug cable 1 from the latch 3 and break apart cable 2 from the latch 3. After step 4, take out the bolts 2 and remove the latch 3.
