2009 Jeep Wrangler Brake Pad Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Remove and Replace Rear Disc Brake Pads with a Focus on Brake Pad Installation on 2009 Jeep Wrangler?
A: Pulling the C-clamp tight allows the pistons to be pushed into the caliper bore and firmly holds an old brake shoe against the piston. Wash the caliper mounting adapter and anti-rattle springs, install the springs and remember that they are not interchangeable. Afterwards, the inboard brake pad goes in the adapter (1) and then place the outboard brake pad (4) in the same position. After that, place the caliper in, then fit the wheel and tire assembly and finally lower the vehicle. Translate the vehicle several times to secure the brake pads and pistons and after that, add brake fluid to the top of the master cylinder.
