2010 Chrysler Town & Country Seat Cushion Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Safely Remove the Seat Cushion and Disable the Airbag System in Front Seats on 2010 Chrysler Town & Country?
A: Always disconnect the negative battery cable on front air bag seats before starting any service, waiting two minutes for the capacitor to release its stored energy to avoid accidental use of the air bags. If your boat has seats with motors, turn off the negative battery cable before securing the outboard side. Remove the plastic insert shield attached to the cushion by pressing the trim stick C-4755 against its retaining tabs or use a similar tool. Straighten the insert upwards to let it pop out from the side shield, next take out the seat belt and the insert. Take out the bolt that holds the seat belt to the seat and move the seat belt out of your line of sight. Unscrew the two screws holding the seat cushion side shield on top of the seat and gently slide out the middle of the shield to release the retaining tabs. Slide the side part of the seat shield both upward and forward to take the front tabs out and then remove it from the seat. If your seats have power, disconnect the wire harness connector from the power seat switch. Get rid of the two screws holding the back end of the rear seat cushion side shield to the seat. Then, remove the retaining tabs by pulling the center of the shield straight out. Upward and forward motion on the side shield unhooks the front tabs, allowing you to then pull the buckle from its side shield place and remove the outer shield.
