2010 Dodge Avenger Spoiler Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Safely Detach a Spoiler Without Damaging the Paint on 2010 Dodge Avenger?
A: Apply masking tape along the edge of the deck lid to prevent the paint from getting spoiled. Take the nuts out by removing the lid from the deck. Remove the spoiler from the car very carefully. Tie numerous knots in a 3-4 ft. piece of monofilament fishing line, spacing them about 1 inch apart in the middle and use this to saw through the tape, so as not to harm the spoiler or deck lid. Make sure to use a 3M Stripe-Off Wheel (Part Nos. 07498 or 07499) to clear the tape and its residue from the deck lid surface, with the wheel helping to lift the tape so it doesn't make a mess. When the tape and sticky particles are removed, apply 3M(TM) Prep Solvent-70 (Part No. 08973) which is followed by isopropyl alcohol and a dry, lint-free cloth. After that, strip the masking tape from the deck lid and get rid of all tape and residue on the spoiler, making sure not to harm its back surface.
