2010 Dodge Challenger Oxygen Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Properly Replace an Oxygen Sensor on 2010 Dodge Challenger?
A: It's important to clear the PCM RAM memory when changing the O2 sensor by either disconnecting the PCM C-1 connector or briefly shutting off the battery, since the NGC remembers each O2 heater's characteristics and neglecting this could create driveability concerns. Under no circumstances put any grease on the sensor's electrical connector or solder its wiring harness. Each exhaust manifold has its own heated oxygen sensor and the engine contains two of them. Once the sensor is out, clean out the exhaust manifold threads by using an 18 mm X 1.5 + 6E tap. Should you reuse the sensor, apply Loctite 771-64 or another anti-seize compound to avoid stripping the sensor threads; however, builders of new sensors already coat the threads, so additional work is not necessary. Secure the sensor now by turning it to 41 Nm (30 ft. lbs.), plug the heated oxygen sensor electrical wiring, lower the car and connect the negative battery wire.
