2010 Dodge Challenger Camshaft Position Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Correctly Install a Camshaft Position Sensor on 2010 Dodge Challenger?
A: Before installing the Camshaft Position Sensor, push it deeply into the timing belt cover with a twisting motion to fully seat it; do not try to install it with the mounting screw at this point because incorrect seating will result in a faulty signal. When reattaching the sensor, first look for splits in the O-ring and apply some fresh engine oil to help it function well. After you have put the sensor in place, grab it and attach the retaining bolt, tightening it to 12 Nm (106 in. lbs.). After that, attach and fasten the electrical connector to the sensor. In the end, put the battery cable on the negative side, tightening the nut to 5 Nm (45 in. lbs.). Any time the flywheel, valvetrain, camshaft or crankshaft sensors are repaired or replaced, the Cam/Crank Variation Relearn procedure should be carried out.
