How to Safely Detach a Muffler on 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan?

To begin, raise and support the vehicle so all the weight is removed from the rear suspension and the muffler/resonator can be removed safely. Put penetrating oil onto the clamp nuts holding the component you'd like to take out and then use a band clamp wrench to unscrew the muffler from the converter pipe. Take out the muffler pipe and the converter pipe from each other. Don't use any tool to remove the rubber isolators; instead, remove them by hand carefully. Removing and installing isolators can be made easier by spraying soapy water or lubricant spray, except for those containing petroleum. Then, unclamp the support isolators from the muffler/resonator assembly and guide the assembly out by moving it forward and fitting the resonator down the aperture between the rear axle and body. Lastly, check the ends of your pipes or muffler to confirm that every part joins properly and toss out the broken, worn or rusted insulators, clamps, supports and parts meant for attaching.
