When you install the differential mount, start by inserting the tapered end of the new bushing into the crossmember bushing bore's forward end. Through the crossmember and bushing, assemble the bolt, disc (9520-1), bushing, nut, washer, installer (9520-2), and thrust bearing. One end of the bushing must receive the Installer and the other the Disc into the crossmember bushing bore. While holding the Nut to prevent it from rotating, using hand tools, tighten the Bolt until the Installer bottoms out against the bushing bore. Then remove the tools. Be sure to install the differential mounting bolts through the bushings before the crossmember is installed in the vehicle, as they cannot be put in afterward. The differential mounting bolt must be inserted through the mount bushing from the rear. Before bolting things up, first raise the crossmember up to the body mounting points. Then align the shocks with the pockets in the spring links. There are four crossmember mounting bolts, and the bolts at the rear are longer than those at the front. Keep bringing up the crossmember until you can install the bolts on the left-hand side, but don't tighten it up just yet. Slowly lower the jack till the crossmember's right side drops just far enough for coil springs to install. The isolators must be fully installed on the ends of the spring. Place the coil spring (with isolators) into the spring pocket,.then placing the top of the spring against the body mount. Gently raise the jack to position the coil spring and lower end of the shock absorber. Install the lower shock mounting bolt and nut but do not tighten. If the vehicle has four-wheel drive (AWD), install spacers on top of the right crossmember mount bushings before raising the crossmember. Elevate the right side of the crossmember into position and install the right side mounting bolts, tight but do not fully tighten. Remove the bolts on the left-hand crossmember mounting, both front and rear, and lower the jack slowly. Do this until the left-hand side of the crossmember drops enough for installation of the coil springs. Make sure that all isolators are fully installed before doing this. Place the coil spring with isolators in the spring pocket of the axle so that the top coil sits in the body mount. Now raise the jack so that the coil spring and the lower end of the shock absorber go into position. Note that you stop once the lower mounting hole of the shock absorber lines up with the spring link. Install the lower shock mounting bolt and nut without tightening. If the vehicle has all-wheel drive, add spacers on top of the left crossmember mount bushings before raising the crossmember. Position the left side of the crossmember and install the left side mounting bolts, installing them loosely, snug but not tight. Realign the crossmember if necessary to position the mounts at the location marks on the body. Then measure the gap between the tension link and the weld flange on the body for spacing. It must be at least 12 mm for proper suspension movement. Shift that side of the rear crossmember rearward (if the distance is less than 12 mm) until the distance is sufficient, and tighten all four crossmember mounting bolts to 180 Nm. Take off the jack from under the rear crossmember, install the fuel filler tube, clip the left rear wheel speed sensor cable to the routing clip and mate the left rear wheel speed sensor connector to the right one. Place the speed sensor connectors into the body wiring harness connector, ensuring the retaining clip is in place. When installing standard or premium disc brakes, push the caliper guide pins into the caliper adapter. Then guide the caliper and brake hose down through the rear suspension, guide the caliper over the brake pads, align the mounting holes with the guide pins, and install the guide pin bolts. Finally, tighten the guide pin bolts to 31 Nm. To fit the SRT8 disc brake caliper, hold the spring link in place, slide it over the brake rotor, install and tighten the caliper mounting bolts to 130 Nm. Direct the cable of the parking brake above the rear crossmember, connect the front parking brake cable at the connector and install the front parking brake cable routing bracket. An axle half shaft is slipped through the hub or bearing and has the hub nut fitted without tightening it, and the rear axle differential is fitted. With the help of an assistant, apply brakes. Tighten the hub nut to 213 Nm. Locate the wheel and tire assemblies and install the rear exhaust system, tightening the wheel mounting nuts to 150 Nm. Use a jack to lower the vehicle completely. Then, connect the battery negative cable. Next, pump the brake pedal several times until the brake pedal feels firm. After that, position the vehicle on an alignment rack. Finally, tighten the shock absorber lower mounting bolt nuts to 72 Nm. Subsequently carry out a wheel alignment, ensuring that the thrust angle is checked. If necessary, however, adjustment of the rear crossmember may be required to keep the tension link clear.
