    A:
Before putting in the front steering knuckle, make sure the Ball Joint stud tapers are clean and dry by wiping them with mineral spirits. Initially, set the hub/bearing onto the steering knuckle and tighten the bolts using 163 Nm (120 ft. lbs.) of torque. After that, join the knuckle to the ball joints and tighten the upper ball joint nut to 75 Nm (55 ft. lbs.). After that, put on the lower ball joint nut and tighten it to 95 Nm (70 ft. lbs.). Take out the hydraulic jack from the lower suspension arm and put in the tie rod end, then tighten the nut to 75 Nm (55 ft. lbs.). The 4X4 halfshaft goes into the hub/bearing connection and the nut is tightened to 251 Nm (185 ft. lbs.). If the car comes with ABS, add the wheel speed sensor, along with the brake shield, rotor and caliper. Next, slide on the wheel and tire assembly, take out the support, lower the car and do a wheel alignment.
  • Q: How to Remove the Front Steering Knuckle on Chrysler Aspen?
    A:
Before taking out the steering knuckle, you should pick up the vehicle, remove the tire and wheel assembly and then access the knuckle. Then, uninstall the Brake Caliper, rotor, brake shield and ABS wheel speed sensor if it is included in your car. On 4X4 vehicles, take off the front half shaft nut first. Following this, unbolt the tie rod end nut and pull out the tie rod from the knuckle with puller 8677 so that you do not damage the Ball Joint seal. After you have finished axle alignment, remove the upper ball joint nut and use Remover 8677 to remove the ball joint from the knuckle. Put a hydraulic jack below the lower control arm, then remove the lower ball joint nut and use Remover 8677 to detach the ball joint from the knuckle so you can take out the knuckle. After that, unscrew the hub/bearing bolts and pull the hub/bearing out of the steering knuckle, then take out the steering knuckle.
