The first step for servicing and repairing the antenna cable is to cut power to the truck by removing and isolating the negative
Battery Cable. Pull the carpeting in the trunk aside on the passenger side and take out the antenna lead from the base of the antenna. Unscrew the
Antenna Mast from inside the antenna body, then remove the screw in the mounting bracket and lower the body of the antenna through the grommet. Simply put the antenna body through the rubber grommet in the quarter panel, then attach the screw to the back of the antenna. Assemble the mast, inserting it into the antenna base and tightening it to 2 N.m (15 in.lbs.), without allowing for any space between the two parts. Connect the receiver to the antenna base, put the passenger side trunk liner back in and plug the negative battery cable back in.
