Chrysler Concorde Drain Plug Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to service a drain plug on Chrysler Concorde?
    A:
First, you should drain the cooling system before working on the radiator drain plug. Don't take out the cylinder block plug or radiator draincock while the system is still hot and full of coolant. You shouldn't use pliers on the draincock because it might damage it and you should remove it only if you notice a leak. Turn the drain stem in the middle of the drain cock against the grain 180 degrees to the 9 o'clock position, then pull the drain cock assembly from inside the radiator tank. Check the body of the drain cock and the seal O-ring for any harm and exchange them when needed. The drain cock assembly should be lined up level with the tank opening, with the mark showing the manufacturer's name pointing down. Push the assembly into the tank opening and twist clockwise until it clicks into place. Turn the drain cock stem clockwise until it is horizontal and fill the cooling system with fresh water.
