  Prior to working on or repairing the Thermostat housing, remove the negative cable from the remote jumper terminal. The pressure cap must be kept on if the system is both hot and full of coolant to prevent getting burned seriously. Follow the cooling system service procedures to drain the cooling system. Remove the accessory Drive Belt so you can reach the generator and then raise the car using a hoist. Wedge the bolts that hold the generator in place and set the generator aside to better access the thermostat. Start by taking off the lower radiator and heater hoses from the thermostat housing, then the thermostat housing bolts and finally the thermostat and housing. Wipe the gasket sealing surfaces, then put the thermostat on, with the bleed valve aligned in the 12 o'clock position and secure it with the gasket. Place the thermostat and housing onto the cylinder block, secure them with bolts tightened according to the instructions. Screw the heater and the lower radiator hoses onto one another, securing them tightly with hose clamps. Install the generator and the attaching bolts, then lower the vehicle and put on the accessory drive belt. Top up the coolant and link the negative cable back to the remote jumper.

  Empty your cooling system for servicing the housing and afterward take out the upper Intake Manifold. Then, use a screwdriver to undo the screws holding the heater tube onto the outlet connector and move the tube apart from the connector for a moment. Remove any bolts that connect the water outlet connector and then take out the connector. To install, first clean the rim of the item and the surrounding membrane and replace any torn or cut gaskets. Screw the terminals and tighten each bolt to 12 Nm (105 inch lbs.). At this point, look at the heater tube O-ring. If you need to replace it, do so. Then, lubricate the O-ring, set the entire heater tube assembly into the outlet connector and tighten everything up with 3 Nm (30 inch lbs.) of torque. Reattach the upper intake manifold, then top off the cooling system.
