Start your repair or service of the Idle Air Control (IAC) Motor by removing the negative
Battery Cable. Then, take the electrical connector off the TPS, remove the mounting screws and take out the TPS. When installing, fit the throttle shaft at the
Throttle Body end into the TPS socket, so that the two tabs inside hold the shaft in place under the throttle body seal. After being correctly indexed, the TPS can turn a little clockwise so the screw holes match those on the throttle body and it will be slightly tight. If the sensor doesn't rotate well, put the throttle shaft of the sensor in the other position inside the socket. Fasten the mounting screws tightly, applying just 3 Nm (25 in. lbs.) of torque. Set the throttle plate so that it closes after the TPS installation; if it isn't, position the sensor on the side that reverses the tabs. At the end, secure the electrical connection to the TPS and link the negative battery cable once more.
