Chrysler Concorde Radiator Drain Plug Parts and Q&A

  • Q:
How to service a Radiator Drain Plug on Chrysler Concorde?
    A:
To service the radiator drain plug, first the cooling system must be drained. Do not remove the cylinder block plug or the radiator draincock when hot and under pressure, to prevent serious burns from the coolant. The draincock should not be damaged by using atool such as pliers on it. Only remove it on leakage. To open the drain cock, turn its stem counterclockwise (to the left) 180 degrees (with the clock hands being turned) until it is at the 9 o'clock position. Pull the whole drain cock assembly out of the radiator tank. If the drain cock body and O-ring show signs of damage, replace them as needed. Install the Drain Cock Assembly horizontally to the opening of the tank with the manufacturers mark facing downward first. Then push it to the tank opening while rotating in the clockwise direction until it snaps in. At last, turn the drain cock stem clockwise until it stops at the horizontal position and refill the cooling system.
