  For servicing and repairing the throttle cable and linkage, first open the throttle lever wide from the engine compartment while pulling the rubber cable ahead and out of the Throttle Body cam. Within the vehicle, lift the pedal up and pull on the cable retainer and throttle cable at the top of the pedal shaft. Pull the throttle cable from the dash panel while, at the same time, removing the retainer from the cable and grommet grommet and making sure both attachments stay put. Place two hands on either ear of the throttle, press down a little and gently release the cable from the bracket. To install, put the fitting on the dash panel grommet end inside the engine compartment and secure the other end of the housing at the throttle body to its mounting bracket on the engine. Insert the end of the throttle cable with the retainer into the bracket at the top of the pedal shaft, then hold the pedal up. Mount the cable retainer clip between the bottom of the throttle cable fitting and the throttle cable grommet at the dash panel, then open the throttle lever wide in the engine compartment and hook up the cable.

  Do not damage or bend the core wire inside the cable sheathing while servicing the accelerator pedal, throttle cable or speed control cable. From inside the engine compartment, hold the Throttle Body throttle lever open wide, pull the throttle cable out forward and remove it from the cam. Now, inside the car, push the pedal down and pull the cable retainers and cable off the mouth of the pedal shaft. Unclip the retainer from the throttle cable and grommet by the dash panel, then remove the throttle cable from the grommet held in place by the car. Press both retaining ears and slide the throttle cable off the throttle bracket; then, gently pull the cable from the throttle. To install it, push the housing for the dash panel fitting into the grommet from inside the vehicle and put the cable housing at the throttle body into the cable mounting bracket on the engine. From within the vehicle, press down the pedal and fit the throttle cable and cable retainer on the top end of the pedal's shaft. At the dash panel, connect the retainer clip to the throttle cable's terminus between the fitting and its grommet, then do the same in the engine bay, rotate the throttle lever to wide open and fit the cable in place.
