  Always read the initial warnings before you start any service. Simply lift the door sill plate upwards until it comes loose from the clips holding it in. Pull the seat back as far as it can go and take out the tracks' front bolts. After that, move the seat back all the way up, making it easier to remove the chair's rear bolts. After that, take out the bolt that connects the seat belt to the seat and detach the negative battery cable, making sure to wait two minutes for the system capacitor to release any power. Start by tilting the seat back, unplugging the power seat harness connectors and then carefully pick out the seat. At the passenger compartment rear wall, remove the carpet retainer button, but avoid prying at it, as this will let you unscrew it from the fastener. Unfold the carpet beside the door's center so you can reach the side impact sensor, then hold it up so it doesn't cover the sensor. Install the side impact sensor on the body cross brace and then tighten the bolts by hand until they measure 12 N.m (106 in. lbs.). Connect the side impact sensor harness connector properly so that there is no damage to it. Install the carpet hold down button while the carpet sits flat on the floor. Attach the front seat and reconnect the power seat harness connectors as well. The seat belt bolt should be tightened to 35 N.m (26 ft. lbs.) and the rear bolts of the seat track should be twisted until they reach 50 N.m (37 ft. lbs.). Hook up the negative battery cable for a moment, move the seat as far back as it goes and then disconnect it once more. Fit the front bolts for the seat track into the car, snug them up with a torque wrench to 50 N.m and then fit the door sill plate by pushing it into the retaining clips. Lastly, put in the key and leave the negative battery cable disconnected for now, since testing the system for the Supplemental Restraint System must be done after you work on any of its parts.
