You need to remove the negative wire from the battery and remove the air cleaner housing to take out the left exhaust manifold. Lift and secure the vehicle, then take out the screws and the lower splash shield. After that, disconnect and remove the left side
Catalytic Converter and its exhaust manifold nuts. Lift the vehicle, take out the exhaust manifold and its gaskets from the engine compartment. For the right side, again release the negative battery cable, clear out the air cleaner housing, lift and support the vehicle and take out each of the splash shield screws. After removing the right side catalytic converter, take out the nuts holding the exhaust manifold, the exhaust manifold and those gaskets underneath. When the manifold is to be installed on the left, put the gaskets and manifold in the cylinder head, fit the manifold nuts and tighten them to 35 Nm. After that, reinstall the left side catalytic converter, the lower splash shield and fasten them together with the screws, applying 5 Nm when tightening. Bring the truck down so it rests on the axle, place the air cleaner, reattach the cable to the negative battery post and then check for exhaust leaks after starting the engine. For right side installation, start by putting the manifold and gaskets on the cylinder head, add the manifold nuts and tighten them to 35 Nm. Fit the corrected catalytic converter for the right side, put back the lower splash shield and tighten all screws to 5 Nm. After lowering the car, set in the air cleaner, hook up the negative cable and turn on the engine to check for exhaust leaks.
