Speed Sensor is an important part of Chrysler LHS automobiles, manufactured between 1994 and 2001. This Speed Sensor aims to determine and monitor the speed of the car and the frequency of rotation of its wheel which are among the data that is needed in the computation of the controls and decisions of the car's systems. This information is important to improve the means of performance parameters others like engine and anti-lock brake (ABS) system, thus increasing efficiency and safety status. The Chrysler LHS models incorporated the VSS and WSS with the latter playing a critical role especially in the advanced systems such as the ABS. Durable Speed Sensor has undergone certain change over the years including the use of Passive and Active Sensor technology that enhance the quality and accuracy of signals in unfavorable environmental conditions. Thus, the Chrysler LHS can sustain the top level of performance in the automotive market, thanks to this innovation. Affordability and compatibility with different models of LHS is another factor that goes with Speed Sensor showing that it can meet the needs of as many drivers as possible. The luxury and strong build of Speed Sensor improves the handling of the car, and adds to the safety of the vehicle which makes it one of the most sought after products in Chrysler.

Chrysler LHS Speed Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain a Rear Wheel Speed Sensor on Chrysler LHS?
    A:
Before you do anything else, get rid of the back seat cushion and back section in the interior to prepare the sensor. Snap the connector of the wheel speed sensor cable off the wire harness, followed by putting the vehicle on jack stands or a frame contact type hoist. Take the rear wheel and tire off, then remove the grommet and unplug the other part of the cable from the wire harness that's connected to the floor pan. Unlock the sensor cable from the bracket on the strut tower flange and remove the wheel speed sensor head and bracket from the disc brake caliper adapter after pulling the bolt and sensor. Installation requires putting both the rear wheel speed sensor and the routing bracket back into the brake caliper adapter and tightening the head with a bolt to 7 Nm (60 inch lbs.). Start by reconnecting the sensor cable to the routing bracket at the strut tower flange. Then, move the cable under the floor panel, using the floor pan hole and fit the grommet on the cable. After reinstallation, use a tool to tighten every wheel mounting stud nut bit by bit, working in the suggested sequence to reach just half the specified torque and then tighten them the same way until they reach 129 Nm (95 ft. lbs.). Drop the vehicle, tie the sensor cable to the wiring harness again and set the rear seat back and cushion back into place. Once you are done, run a road test to make sure that both the base and ABS work properly.
  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Transmission Speed Sensor for Output Speed Sensor on Chrysler LHS?
    A:
You should first detach the Transmission Speed Sensor from its connector before performing service. Following, unscrew and take out the output speed sensor before checking whether the O-ring needs replacement. After positioning the O-ring as instructed, screw in the output speed sensor to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.) torque during installation. Next, hook up the speed sensor connector and lastly connect the negative Battery Cable.
