  The provisions on how to take out a power steering pump out of a 3.5 L engine are therefore, after disconnecting the negative Battery Cable disengage cap on the power steering fluid reservoir, pull out as much proportion of fluid as possible through siphoning. Then remove the engine appearance cover and upper radiator closure panel and the power steering fluid reservoir. Check the O-ring in the power steering pressure hose, and replace it with a new one and enlarge it with clean power steering fluid, before fitting the pressure hose into the pump fitting and tighten it to 31 Nm (275 inch lbs.). Lift the car back up and attach the front mount and the rear motor mount using the nuts that are tightened up to 102 Nm (75 ft. lbs.) and this should be done also on the accessory drive belt. Reinstall the pressure and return hoses of the A/C compressor bracket and fix them into the same routing clamp and nut (12 Nm 105 inch lbs.). Install the drive belt splash shield, tire and wheel with the nuts tightened to 135 Nm (100 ft. lbs.) and lower the vehicle. Reinstall air cleaner housing, generator wiring harnessway clip, fluid supply hose with its clamp, power steering fluid reservoir, upper radiator closure panel and engine appearance cover. Lastly, connect the negative battery cable, bleed and fill the power steering system then check to make sure there are no leaks.

  First, return the pump to its spot in the engine in the opposite order in which you removed it. Fit the pump onto its bracket and insert three bolts through the pulley, tightening them to 23 Nm (200 inch lbs.). Place the car on jack stands, fit the nuts on the front and rear motor mounts into the engine cradle and bolt each nut with 102 Nm (75 ft. lbs.) torque. Add the accessory Drive Belt, mount the pressure and return hoses on the A/C compressor bracket, hold them there with a routing clamp and nut and tighten the nut to 12 Nm (105 inch lbs.) torque. After the splash shield, place the tire and wheel assembly, tighten the wheel mounting nuts to 135 Nm (100 ft. lbs.) and only then lower the vehicle. Connect the air cleaner housing, insert the generator wiring harness routing clip into the pump, join the fluid supply hose to its fitting and fasten it with a clamp. Put on the power steering fluid reservoir, the upper radiator closure panel and the cover for the engine. Afterward, connect the negative cable on the battery to the negative post, bleed the power steering system and make sure there are no leaks.
