First, remove the front door trim panel and watershield, go to the outside handle and then roll the door glass up. Pull the Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS) switch out of the back of the lock cylinder through the opening in the door panel. To reach the lock cylinder from the front door, first unfasten the handle, then pull the connecting piece for the lock cylinder from the inside of the other handle. Lift the cylinder out of the handle on the door. Slide the link arm to the front of the vehicle and push the lock cylinder into the door handle until you hear the clip snap firmly in place. Snap the power tumbler into the position on the outside handle, making sure that new replacement link arms have the latch end marked in red for the right arm and black for the left arm. If you don't have to replace the links, mark the correct link arms as directed. Link the lock linkage to the inside of the lock cylinder link arm and snap in the clip and then reinstall the vehicle theft switch on the back of the cylinder. First, install the outside door handle, after that the watershield and door trim panel, switches and bezel. Make sure the door lock is working properly.
