To fix or repair the front door outside handle, first roll the window glass up and take out the door trim panel. As required for access, peel back the watershield. Release the clips that attach the door latch latch release link and lock link to the door latch. Release the clips securing the vehicle theft alarm switch to the lock cylinder. Detach the links that connect to the latch, and then remove the screws that secure the retainer to the back of the door handle. Finally, pull out the retainer and then the door handle. Take away the lock cylinder from the external door handle. To install, first transfer the lock cylinder into the door handle. Next position the door handle on the door and then place the retainer on the door handle stud. Using screws, the retainer is secured with the clips of the latch being inserted on the links and the clips engaged in order to secure the latch release link and lock link. Connect the vehicle theft alarm switch to the lock cylinder, make any adjustments necessary, then reinstall the watershield and door trim panel. Make sure door latch handle is working properly.
