The Drive Shaft is a key and well-known part that has received a lot of positive responses due to the durable quality and also effectiveness in the Chrysler Prowler Motion. Being a one-piece shaft, Prowler Drive Shaft enables mechanical power and torque of the engine to be effectively transferred to the rear wheels so as to enable the vehicle to move and respond well. This relatively low weight but very strong design helps to reduce the moment of inertia and thus underlines specific sports-oriented nature of the Chrysler Prowler concept. The use of universal joints in the Prowler Drive Shaft helps in managing the cases of alignment and distance hence enhancing driving. Suits a number of Prowler models the vehicle is branded as front-engine, rear-wheel drive and this drive shaft reinforces this layout for enhanced performance. The Drive Shaft not only provides the Prowler with the much needed push on the roads with a 0- 60 LVGT sprint in 7.2secs but also adds a detail in the safety features as it guarantees the right power at the right time while in action. Other features that make it unique in automotive market are; the use of light materials in its manufacturing as well as its ability to efficiently transmit power. Chrysler Prowler Drive Shaft Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Install a Drive Shaft on Chrysler Prowler?
    A:
You should first push the transaxle as far backward as possible when installing the drive/propeller shaft. Lift the front of the propshaft to the pilot bushing on the front drive flange, keeping both devices on the same level. Do not take out the propshaft until it's clear of the drive flange pilots and do not lift the shaft upward to avoid inner bushing damage. First, fit the front end of the propshaft into the front bellhousing flange pilot and guide its back end over the rear drive flange pilot, inserting it last. Guide the transaxle forward, ensuring that the drive flanges on the two parts reach the couplers at the places marked before removal. Attach the retaining bolts and tighten them down until they reach 70 ft. lbs. Once that's done, assemble the exhaust system and install the hangers, then place the brackets against the engine bellhousing. Get the transmission into place and attach both mounts for the front and rear. Join the wires from the electrical hooks on the transmission, add the gearshift cable to the manual valve lever and attach the transmission cooler lines to the transmission. After that, install the transmission cooler and the bracket, lower the vehicle and link the batter negative cable.
