To get rid of the windshield, slice through the urethane adhesive securing it in the opening pinch weld using a sharp cold knife on the outside if the glass is broken; but if you want to reuse the glass, use a motorized reciprocating or oscillating power knife on the interior. Take care not to damage the paint or glass as you remove the rear view mirror inside, cowl cover and molding on the windshield. Lift the urethane bonding border and then pull the windshield out of the car. Make certain that the layer of urethane bonding material on the windshield fence fits the shape of the new windshield and that the spacers are clean when you are ready to install the windshield. Set the repaired windshield into the opening, label it where the support spacers are found, then clean the inside of the windshield with Mopar(R) Glass Cleaner. Outline the whole windshield with clear glass primer and then mask the top, sides and bottom with black out primer and let this dry. Peel off as much of the urethane you laid before, but prevent any damage to the windshield fence and then lay a 10 mm piece of new urethane along the middle line of the windshield fence. Place the spacers onto the windshield opening fence, then with someone assisting, place the windshield over the opening so it's centered and even with the car roof. After applying urethane to the exterior, clear off the bonding material, attach masking tape to the molding until the urethane dries and then put back the cowl, wipers and the antenna connector. Be certain the urethane is fully dry before removing the tape strips and trying the water test.
