How to Maintain Wheel Studs on the Rear Wheels on Chrysler PT Cruiser?

Make sure not to harm anything as you first take out the hub and bearing before proceeding to service the rear wheel mounting studs. Lift the hub and bearing assembly using a hydraulic press ram, with a 21 mm deep-well impact socket below the stud being replaced. Push the stud out of the hub flange and into the socket well, detach the hub and bearing from the press and remove the stud from the socket. The stud should be added first to the mounting hole on the hub and bearing assembly, then placed through the engine mounting area from the back. Lay the assembly face down, with the 21 mm socket well facing up and position the ram on the stud inside the well. Place your stud into the hub flange all the way down, then pull out and remove the hub and bearing unit. Replace it on the car with the stud fully inserted.
