Lay the battery harness into the vehicle and fasten it in place with the pushpins, fasteners and clips until it goes back to its original location. Lift the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) from its mounting bracket, turn it over and attach the battery harness cable to the stud on the TIPM. Insert the retaining nut and tighten it to 10 Nm. Plug the glow plug module connector, cabin heater relay connectors and the in-line connector into the instrument panel harness for diesel engine vehicles. Push down on the remote positive battery terminal until you hear it click into place next to the left strut tower. Leave the jack in place, part the remote positive battery terminal, slide the starter harness positive cable onto the remote positive battery terminal, install the retaining nut and apply pressure of 16.5 Nm. On a hoist, lift the vehicle, link the in-line connector to the diesel instrument panel harness, secure the battery and then bring the vehicle down. Connect the negative battery harness cable onto the remote battery's post, then screw the nut by hand to 16.5 Nm. Cover your hands with heavy-duty rubber gloves and wear safety glasses when working on the starter harness and leave off any jewelry that might injure you. Separate and disconnect the negative terminal at your battery from the remote post. Unplug and separate the negative cable from its battery harness. Fit the starter harness into its place in the vehicle and hold it there using the retaining pushpins, fasteners and routing clips. Connect the starter harness negative cable to the remote negative battery post and tighten it to 16.5 Nm. Lift the cover from the positive battery terminal, join the starter harness positive cable to the remote positive battery like shown in Photo, install the retaining nut and tighten it to 16.5 Nm. Mount the vehicle on a hoist, link the starter harness' positive cable to the starter positive battery post and fasten the retaining nut to 13 Nm. Push the negative cable end of the starter harness onto the engine block and fasten the bolt to 16.5 Nm. Release the car suspension and join the negative battery harness remote terminal to the remote battery with the cable, turning the nut to 16.5 Nm.
