After opening the liftgate, go to the engine bay and then remove the negative cable from the battery before disconnecting the spoiler. Still holding up the liftgate, remove the power liftgate rod and take out the liftgate trim panel. After that, remove the four nuts keeping the spoiler in place and carefully lift the spoiler off the outer liftgate panel. Detach the Chmsl electrical connector and the washer hose before taking out the spoiler from the car. If you are adding a new spoiler, put the Chmsl lamp and washer nozzle on the new spoiler.
