The Chrysler Lift Support allows opening a hood, a trunk or a liftgate without any difficulty and holds it securely in position without any sudden drops. It takes a few minutes to replace a deteriorated Chrysler Lift Support at home. Preliminarily prop the hood or hatch firmly and unscrew the former strut on the ball studs using a small flat object. Test that the new unit is the same length and has the same fittings, apply a dot of grease on each of the studs and insert the sockets onto the balls until they clamp. Once the Lift Support is clamped, drop the prop and press the panel up and down a few times to make sure it moves easily and firmly holds.
