Before working on the EGR valve on 3.3L/3.8L engines, make sure to disconnect the negative battery cable. Once you've removed the accessory
Drive Belt, take the time to remove the generator bolts so you can move the generator. Electrically disconnect the connector from the EGR valve, then loosen the EGR valve tubes and the four mounting bolts. During installation, place a new gasket over the EGR valve, set it on the cylinder head and attach both mounting bolts at 31 Nm (23 ft.lbs.) Then, put the
EGR Tube in position with the EGR valve and fit the two bolts, tightening them to 13 Nm (115 in.lbs). Join the EGR valve's electrical connector, secure the bracket bolts, thread the belt through its path and attach the negative battery cable.
