Before servicing the hood latch, release the hood latch and lift the hood. Replace the bolts joining the hood latch to the radiator closure panel crossmember, separating the hood latch from the crossmember. Disconnect the hood release from the hood latch and take out the hood latch from the vehicle. For installation, join the hood release cable to the hood latch, then install the latch on the crossmember. The hood latch hooks onto the pierced tabs in the hood, but if they don't align, use pliers to bend the tabs or a grinder to shorten them. Operate and check the alignment of the hood and ensure everything functions well. After that, use a torque wrench to fasten all bolts to 13.5 N.m (10 ft.lbs.) torque levels.
