Whenever you service
Throttle Body components, be sure to install new O-rings and seals as needed, without any lubricant to damage them; if you find assembly tough, then apply water or just a bit of engine oil on only the O-rings. Overall steps are: take off the negative cable from the battery, then remove the electrical connection and screws near the idle air control motor. The new idle air control motor for installation will already have an O-ring installed; for 2.4L engines, if the pintle measures more than 1 inch (25 mm), use the DRB Idle Air Control Motor Open/Close Test while the battery is connected to lower the pintle. After that, set the air control motor into the throttle body, tighten the mounting screws to 17 in-lbs., hook up the electrical connector and connect the negative battery cable.
