Before starting to service the tensioner and the pulley of the timing belt, take out the timing belt and the timing belt idler pulley. Hold the camshaft sprocket with Special Tool 6847 and remove the bolt before taking out the two cam sprockets. Following that, release the hold-down bolts on the rear timing belt cover and remove the cover. Remove the bolt from the lower end of the tensioner assembly and pull the assembly out of the engine. For installation, place the tensioner unit in position on the engine and then put in the lower bolt by hand. Put one of the engine mounting bolts (M10 size) halfway to three-quarters of the way into the tensioner's upper bolt hold. Fasten the tensioner's lower bolton to 61 Nm (45 ft-lbs.), then remove the special bolt that was temporarily used to align everything. Put in the rear timing belt cover and its fasteners and then proceed with the timing belt idler pulley by tightening its single mounting bolt to 61 Nm (45 ft. lbs.). Grab Special Tool 6847 and insert the camshaft sprockets while they are secured and torque the bolts to 101 Nm (75 ft. lbs.).
