  Before removing the hold open latch cable, isolate the negative battery cable, then open the door by removing the needed trim panel from your car. Separate the watershield from the glue on the edge of the door panel, open the door, unmount the latch, make a mental note of how everything is placed and remove the attached foam padding. Look for the cable that fastens the hold open latch in place and disconnect it from its clips on the routing path. Then, unhook the cable end from the latch assembly pool by carefully removing the retainer from the latch mounting bracket and pulling free the swedged cable. Disconnect the cable sleeve retainer from the side door handle bracket and unhook the swedged cable end from the side door, after that take out both the cable and the side door's hold open latch. Verify the new cable with the old cable before installation, assemble the hold open latch cable first on the side door, making sure it's fitted into the uppermost attachment that has a "W" marked on it and then join the cable to the hold open latch assembly's swedged end onto the latch link. Attach the hold open latch cable in the same way to the latch assembly, follow the outside handle cable along its path, fasten it on its clips and put the foam insulators in place, using the opposite door panel as a reference or using a schematic made earlier.
