If the vehicle has power foldaway mirrors, install the power foldaway switch in the upper shroud as your first step for the steering column cover. Then, in cars with traction control, install the traction control switch in the upper shroud and securely attach the switch wiring to the routing clip up above. Connect the upper shroud to the column and if your car is equipped, pull the switch wiring around the column so you can connect the switch wiring from the column harness to the traction control switch harness. When you take off the lower shroud, place it on the column and add the lower shroud mounting screw, reaching a tightness level of 2 Nm (17 in. lbs.) torque. Set the upper shroud above the lower shroud and line up their tab locations at the locks in both columns. Add the two screws between the shrouds and tighten each one to 2 Nm (17 in. lbs.). Now, look for big gaps between the shroud and its mating area and fix them before checking the function of any pre-disconnected switches.
