How to Service a Throttle Position Sensor on Dodge Caravan?

Before servicing the Throttle Position Sensor, first remove the negative cable from the battery. Remove the connection from the throttle position sensor and then get rid of the mounting screws. Pull the throttle position sensor carefully from its attachment to the throttle shaft. During installation, allow the throttle shaft to slide into the TPS socket with two small internal tabs in it. Properly indexed, rotating the TPS slightly clockwise will bring the holes on the throttle potentiometer into line with the mounting screw holes in the throttle body and you will feel slight resistance as the unit rotates. Should the sensor be difficult to rotate, place the throttle shaft on the other side of the sensor tabs. Join the throttle position sensor to the throttle shaft and hold it down using the mounting screws tightened to 2 Nm (17 in. lbs.). Once you've removed the connectors from the sensors, reconnect the electrical connector to the throttle position sensor and place the negative battery cable back on the battery.
