Install a large screwdriver through the crankshaft pulley so as to lock it from rotating and then unscrew the bolt connecting the pulley to the crankshaft. This means a spacer or a long allen head bolt has to be placed in the crank shaft nose for the tapered end of the puller to apply force on in order not to create contact with the crank shaft.
