- Q: How to Service a Dome Light on Dodge Dakota?A:The first step in servicing the dome lamp is to separate and shut off the battery negative cable. Separate the two sides of the domelight lens using a small flat blade so the domelight piece hangs loose from the headliner. Pull the right side of the lamp down, then move it to the right and unlink the dome lamp wire from the body wire harness. To install, place the dome lamp at the roof using the wire and link the dome lamp connector to the body wire harness. On the left, stick the lamp in the hole made in the headliner and move it toward the left. Then reach to the right side, insert the lamp and press the lens so it sits securely. After that, secure the negative cable to the battery.
