How to Remove and Install a Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) on Dodge Dakota?

The Throttle Position Sensor is installed on the throttle body. First, remove the tube from the throttle body and loose the connector going to the TPS. Then, remove the two screws holding the TPS and take the sensor out. The throttle body's shaft is slid into the TPS and the shaft-end of the sensor must be placed where the socket comes into contact with it by a few degrees; if it is not, place the sensor so the shaft end is on the other side of the socket tangs. When we rotate the TPS, it will be under slight tension. Connect the TPS, its retaining screws and tighten them to 7 N-m (60 in. lbs.) torque. Join the TPS electrical connector again and use the throttle to check for any difficulty; if present, do not start the engine. Mount the air cleaner tube back onto the throttle body which completes the process.
