How to Install a Steering Wheel on Dodge Durango?

Always use a fresh bolt for the steering wheel, because you cannot reuse the old bolt. First, put the spline of the steering wheel hub on the column shaft. Then attach the steering wheel to the column. Make sure the steering wheel mounting bolt is tightened at the proper set torque for correct Clock Spring working. Following this, attach the new steering wheel bolt with 61 Nm (45 ft. lbs.) of torque. Afterward, connect the air bag for the driver's side to the steering wheel.

How to Maintain Your Steering Wheel on Dodge Durango?

Service work on the steering wheel should start by switching off and removing the driver's side air bag. Take out part of bolt 2 so it's no longer attached and leave it in the column. Put puller CJ98-1 on top of the bolt, then push using the end of the tool. First, remove bolt 2 and then take out steering wheel 1. During installation, replace bolt 2 with a new one and place the spline found on the steering wheel hub against the shaft of the steering column. Hook the steering wheel 1 onto the column 4, securing with the bolt to prevent abnormal Clock Spring workings.
