To place the timing cover, remove any burrs from the chain case cover and cylinder block and take out the crankshaft oil seal at the same time. Glue on the new gasket to the chain case cover so the bottom edge is exactly 0.5 mm (0.020 in.) past the cover's edge. With the right flats of the crankshaft in the vertical postion, match them up with the mating flats of the oil pump rotor as they should be due to correct alignment. Fix the timing cover in place and attach it with the timing chain cover bolts. After this, tighten the M8 bolts to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.) and M10 bolts to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.). Then, place the crankshaft front oil seal,
Water Pump, crankshaft pulley, vibration damper, right side
Engine Mount and
Camshaft Position Sensor in position. Attach the heater return hose to the rear of the timing chain cover or to the water pump inlet tube if the engine contains an oil cooler and then finish by attaching the other end to the radiator lower hose. Attach the A/C compressor and accessory
Drive Belt and after that, fit the new O-ring on the oil pump pick-up tube and tighten its attaching bolt keeping in mind it must not exceed 28 Nm (250 in. lbs.). After that, fit the
Oil Pan, inner shield and front right wheel, make sure the crankcase has engine oil, fill the cooling system and link the negative cable to the battery.
