How to Service and Repair a Sway Bar Bushing on Dodge Intrepid?

Before working on the front sway bar bushing, first raise the car using jack stands or a frame contact hoist. Before removing the next pieces, loosen the 2 bolts that hold every sway bar bushing retainer and bushing to the cradle assembly and take out the sway bar isolator bushing retainers from the isolator bushings. Check the retainers and bushings; if any of them are broken or distorted, remove the bushings, open the slit in the new bushings and slide them around the sway bar so the slit is toward the front of the car. Install the bushings onto the sway bar, with their slits at the front and the flat side down and then put the isolator bushing retainers back onto them. It is important to place the sway bar so its lower end is exactly midway on the cradle to avoid contact with other suspension parts. Place each sway bar bushing retainer into its mounting hole in the cradle assembly, attach it using the bolts to the assembly and secure them by torquing them to 61 Nm (45 ft. lbs.). Set the vehicle down onto the ground at the end.
