The Dodge Journey Timing Belt is an essential part that defines a perfect model of the Dodge Journey model. This Timing Belt is a very important component in the engine as it ensures that the crankshaft and the camshaft are in harmony hence the proper timing of the engine valves. The Dodge Journey Timing Belt is credited for its indefinite reliability and over the years improvements on the belts' material make it to require replacement even after a longer time. Nonetheless, it is crucial to inspect and change the Timing Belt and the tensioner and idler pulleys at the right interval to avoid dealing with the Julian's Journey's catastrophic issues or reduced efficiency. Therefore, the compatibility of the Timing Belt into different Journey models enhances its relevance due to its position in ensuring the vehicle's safety and performance. I want to highlight such features as the braking system of the Dodge Journey, which ensures the vehicle's safety along with such components as the reliable Timing Belt. Also, the newer designs of the Timing Belt come with curved teeth that are added so as to make it more durable and also reduce any form of noise which makes the Timing Belt a very noble product in the market niche of cars. Even though the Dodge Journey is no longer being manufactured as from 2020, it is still existent with Timing Belt playing an important role in providing comfort, safety, and affordable cars many used when purchasing the Dodge Journey.

Dodge Journey Timing Belt Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Remove and Replace a Timing Belt on Dodge Journey?
    A:
Before you take out and replace the timing belt, first ensure that fuel pressure is released. Break the connection from the negative battery and unscrew the two cylinder head covers. After that, take out the front timing belt cover. When reusing the timing belt, stamps its running direction. Whenever aligning the marks on pistons and cams, rotate the Crankshaft to prevent damaging the valves and pistons. Keep turning the engine clockwise until the crankshaft mark lines up with TDC mark on the oil pump housing and the camshaft sprocket timing marks fall into place with those on the rear cover. Once the tensioner is out, get rid of the timing belt as well. Examine the tensioner for any leaks and check if the pivot and bolt move freely, if they do not, change both the arm and pulley assembly. As you take the tensioner out of the engine, press the plunger into the tensioner and guide the tensioner in the vise using the same pin orientation it is fastened on the engine. Using a vise, carefully press the tensioner's plunger flat until most of the air is out. This may take five minutes. When the plunger is pressed into the tensioner body, go ahead and drive in a pin that locks the plunger into place until the tensioner is mounted.
