  Before servicing or repairing the power brake booster, slide the driver's seat all the way to the rear and unhook the battery negative cable from the battery post. Unplug the master pedal travel sensor wire on the power brake booster, as well as the wire supplying the active brake booster solenoid to disconnect ESP. Take out your vacuum hose at the valve above the brake booster, but leave the valve in place and then pull the brake lamp switch out. Replace the brake lamp switch, join the vacuum hose to the check valve at the front of the booster and attach any disconnected wiring harness connectors, if your car has ESP. Replace the master cylinder and windshield wiper module and add any removed parts into their places. After that, join the battery negative cable to the post and run a test drive to check that the brakes are working as they should.

  Before you put in the power brake booster, a new seal should be installed over the push rod and mounting studs that are at the back of the booster. Position the booster through the gap above the cross-brace and feed the push rod and the mounting studs up and through the dash as you guide them through the hole in the panel. Torque all four boost Check for correct torque on tape and stick the bolts at 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.) to avoid vacuum leaks after tightening.
