To remove the console floor, first apply the parking brake, turn the
Ignition Switch to the On position, apply the service brakes, and place the gear selector lever into the Neutral position. Then turn the ignition switch to the Off position and release the service brakes. For vehicles with the Automatic Express Up power window feature, calibration is necessary whenever power to the door module is disrupted, and a battery reconnect procedure must be performed after disconnecting the battery. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable, remove the mat from the cubby bin at the front of the floor console, open the lid of the console rear bin, and remove the mat from the rear bin. Remove the two screws that secure the front of the console shifter bezel to the console, use a trim stick to unsnap the console bezel, and take out the shifter bezel from around the gear selector lever. Remove the three 8 mm bolts from the rear bin that secure the console to the floor panel transmission tunnel and the two screws that secure the front of the console to the instrument panel. Slide the console rearward to access and disconnect the jumper wire connector from the accessory power outlet on the underside of the console, then remove the floor console from the vehicle. For installation, position the floor console into the vehicle, reconnect the jumper wire connector to the accessory power outlet, engage the ears at the front of the console to the slots at the lower instrument panel, locate the alignment holes at the front of the console over the alignment pins on the instrument panel, and engage the locating pin on the underside of the console rear bin into the slot in the top of the floor panel transmission tunnel. Install and tighten the two screws that secure the front of the console to the instrument panel to 3 N.m (23 in.lbs.) and the three 8 mm bolts into the rear bin to 5 N.m (40 in.lbs.). Position the console shifter bezel over the gear selector lever, engage the tabs on the underside of the console shifter bezel into the holes in the floor console, and install and tighten the two screws that secure the front of the console shifter bezel to the console to 3 N.m (23 in.lbs.). Position the mat into the console rear bin with the curved edge oriented forward and the mat into the cubby bin at the front of the floor console. Firmly push the shifter trim ring down to position it to the gear selector and place the gear selector lever into the Park position. Finally, reconnect the battery negative cable.
