To fix or service the front tilt motor or any other part of the power seat motor, ensure safety by isolating the battery's negative cable. Start by removing the powered seat and then take out both the
Seat Cushion and pan. Take out the motor by releasing its electrical connector, removing the screws that hold it in place and lifting the motor straight up. The new motor should be fitted to the seat adjuster and lodged in its mount with the fasteners and you should tighten them to 5 N.m (44 in.lbs.). Attach the motor electrical plug, reinstall the seat cushion and clip the wire harness onto the cushion pan. After that, install the seat again, attach the battery negative cable and confirm that the power seat assembly works as expected. When these symptoms appear-for example, a defective locking pawl, locking pawl partially inserted in the seat frame or holding height or a missing or damaged shear pin-replacing the height adjuster should be done rather than attempting repairs, as not to risk injury or death.
