How to Service and Repair a Throttle Body on Dodge Neon?

The first step in working on the throttle body is to unplug the negative battery cable. First, take off the air cleaner box cover and then pull the element up past its opening in the box. Take the connection from the transmission at the throttle body and loosen the clamp on the throttle body outlet hose. Remove the bolts holding the throttle body to the air cleaner box and undo the wires from the throttle body cam. To set up, attach the cables on the throttle cam as a first step, then connect them to the bracket for the throttle cable. After that, put the throttle body into the air cleaner box and screw on the bolts to hold it in place. Fasten the clamp securely on the throttle body outlet hose, connect all the electrical connectors to the throttle body and position the air cleaner element so it is set back from the lip of the air cleaner box.
