This is why the CV Boot is an important part that increases the dependability and capability of the Dodge Nitro automobiles that were manufactured between 2007 and 2012. This nature of a rubber or plastic shield is important in safeguarding the constant velocity joint, which is important in transmitting power to front wheel drive mode and all wheel drive mode. The CV Boot preserves the greasy layer thus protecting the CV Joint from undue wear by the dirt or other interfering matter. The latter proved compatibility with various Nitro models, Nitro models with Rzeppa, Nitro models with tripod and double offset joints. Vigilant surveillance of the CV Boot is highly appropriate because rupture stems from problems such as squeaking or twanging, which in turn affects efficiency and safety. The Dodge Nitro has a strong build, and thus, the CV Boot is also strong, and this gives the car immense strength in performance thus beating the odds of the market in automobiles. Furthermore, the improved capability of CV Boot to perform good under different driving situations is beneficial to the vehicle sharp safety measure. Given the fact that the CV Boot is an important part of the vehicle that is responsible not only for enhancing the performance but also for increasing the life of Nitro, a CV Boot is a part and parcel of the Dodge Nitro's conception of supremacy.

Dodge Nitro CV Boot Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Install a CV Boot for Optimal Performance on Dodge Nitro?
    A:
Put a layer of the grease offered with the joint/boot on the Constant Velocity joint components, before you begin assembling. After that, attach new clamps to the new boot and guide the boot toward the shaft. Put the small diameter 3 end of slide cage 2 onto the shaft 1 as you approach the boot. Thread race 1 onto the shaft 3 and invest the race pull to ensure that the snap ring is in place. Slide cage 1 over the inner race 2 so they line up together. Place the cage 30° to fit the cage windows 4 with the race 2. After greasing the inner bearing, set the bearings in place along the inner race. Apply grease inside Housing Bore 4 and insert Assembly 2 into the housing 1. Attach housing snap ring 3 so that it rests properly in the groove. Squeeze the last of the grease into the housing and boot, then attach the boot to the C/V housing, being careful it is not twisted and all extra air is released. Secure both clamps by using Clamp Installer C-4975A. Put the tool on the bridge above the clamp and tighten it until you see the jaws closed.
  • Q: How to Service and Repair a CV Boot on Dodge Nitro?
    A:
When servicing the Constant Velocity Joint Boot, secure the shaft in a vise that has soft jaws, with the support below so you do not damage the C/V housing or half shaft. After using a cut-off wheel or grinder to remove the clamps, pull the boot down the shaft and wipe away the lubricant to find the C/V joint snap ring. Move the snap ring apart and take the joint off the shaft and then throw away the worn boot. Put small dabs of paint on the inner race/hub, bearing cage and housing. Tie the C/V joint to a vise upright, then push down the bearing cage on one side to expose the ball on the other side; if you find the joint is stuck, loosen the bearing hub with a hammer, until you can twist off the racing point. Take out all the balls from the bearing cage and once all are out, hoist the cage and inner race up and away from the housing. Twist the inner race 90° clockwise, removing the spacer and turning it out of the cage.
