Dodge Nitro Wiper Motor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Install a Wiper Motor on Dodge Nitro?
    A:
If you took off the rubber bezel and grommet on the outside of the liftgate, start by inserting them into the liftgate outer wall's mounting hole. After that, put the rear wiper motor and bracket on the liftgate's inner panel working as a single unit. Install and tighten the three screws on the liftgate bracket so they reach 5.5 Nm (47 in. lbs.) of torque. Find the other wire harness and insert it into its connector on the motor and then reattach the trim panel to the liftgate inner panel. Following this, attach the rear Wiper Arm onto the output shaft again. In the end, reconnect the negative Battery Cable.
  • Q: How to Remove a Wiper Motor on Dodge Nitro?
    A:
The first step is to break the negative cable's connection from the battery before you begin removing the rear wiper motor. After this, take the rear Wiper Arm off the shaft at the back of the motor. It is not necessary to take out either the output shaft bezel or grommet for motor removal. After that, remove the trim panel on the liftgate inner panel. Take out the rear wiper motor wire harness connector. Once that is done, remove the three screws from the mounting bracket for the motor under the liftgate. Lastly, take out the bezel and rubber grommet on the liftgate panel from the output shaft housing while shielding the liftgate and its paint from harm as you work.
